Use this before publishing:

1. Is the source primary?
2. Is the source named and attributable?
3. What is confirmed fact?
4. What is allegation or claim?
5. Is there a second source?
6. Is anything still unclear?
7. Do we need to say what is not yet confirmed?
8. Is the headline fair and precise?
